Week 48 & 49: Finding the Family in Come Follow Me

Prophets of old, and prophets today have foretold and warned of the downfall of strong and powerful cities. In Come Follow Me this week we read the terrifying accounts of Nineveh, Babylon, and even Jerusalem’s fall. That was thousands of years ago, today many believe we are too big, or mighty to fail. But can we ignore what prophets have told of our day?

In “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” we are explicitly warned:

“… individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.”

Last week’s lesson was a reminder that God is full of mercy and forgiveness is real.

Is it too late for us to recover our nations? Communities? Individuals?

If destruction of any of these begins with the disintegration of the family, what will STRENGTHENING the family do?

For individuals. Communities. Even nations?

The principles and teachings of “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” are not outdated; in fact, the warnings and promises could not be more timely.
